Győr-Gönyű National Public Port Development

As a member of the AD STATUA Consortium on behalf of the North Transdanubian Water Directorate, our company took part in the project preparation to develop the Győr-Gönyű National Public Port between 2012 and 2014. The aim of the project was to explore the potentials offered by the favourable location of the port, to outline measures needed, to find the best option and to carry out the corresponding design efforts in order to ensure the project’s largest contribution to increasing the performance of inland waterway navigation as an environmentally friendly freight transport sector.

In the first phase of the work, a strategic concept study was carried out, which was primarily designed to identify a series of organisation enhancement and infrastructure development steps that could significantly improve the functionality of the Győr-Gönyű National Public Port and Logistics Centre. As a result, the measures were identified, a realistic schedule was outlined for which the preparatory efforts could be launched.

In the second phase, we carried out the option analysis taking into account the findings of the strategy paper. The option analysis, in correspondence with the general assumptions, included description of the technical solutions for the individual options and a detailed analysis of the options and the results of the option analysis, the option proposed for implementation.

The Feasibility Study was elaborated in the third phase in correspondence with the effective criteria of the application for funding of the implementation.
