Extension of tram line Nr.1 to Etele tér – Budapest

The consortium led by TRENECON was contracted by Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) to work out a single development concept for the tram and trolleybus network in the capital. The assignment was expanded to integrate the front-end engineering and design of tram line Nr. 1 section between Fehérvári út, Etele tér and Kelenföld railway station which was identified by the concept as a priority intervention. As the first step the detailed feasibility study was delivered defining the technical parameters of the line, the stops and the possible reconstruction of the Etele út and its environs. Finally, the permit designs included the option preferred by the Municipality for the location and architecture of the terminal station.

The permit designs were developed in two phases by the end of 2015. TRENECON made the designs for the section between Tétényi út and Etele tér.

The new section of tram line Nr. 1 was put into operation in July 2019.
